Honda beat Subaru to the top spot followed by fellow Japanese manufacturers Mitsubushi, Lexus, Toyota, Mazda and Nissan. The rest of the Top 10 was made up of MINI, Kia and Skoda.
The Land Rover Freelander has been given what is being described as an "eco makeover" with a new look, engines and, a first for Land Rover, a front wheel drive model.
Called the Freelander eD4 the two wheel drive model (launched in January 2011) will be the most efficient Land Rover ever with a Co2 rating of just 158g/km which translates to a claimed 47.2 mpg on the combined fuel consumption cycle.
New BMW 5 series boosts profits for 2010
BMW has posted strong profits in the 2nd quarter of 2010, boosted by the strong sales of the new BMW 5 series. This was driven by record sales in China and a strong recovery in the vital US market.
£40M loan for the new Mc. Laren factory in Woking
The Mc. Laren Group has secured a loan of more than £40M from HSBC to build the new factory for it's MP4-12C supercar due for 2011 launch. This is the first time the company has taken on any debt of more than £1M since 2005. It is expected that the new factory will be fully operational for Spring 2011 and provide new jobs for the local area in Surrey.
